Kathmandu – Pokhara – Chitwan – Kathmandu

GharialAn eight-day comprehensive tour of the enchanting Kathmandu valley visiting two of its three major cities. Out of the valley and over winding mountain highway you drive to the scenic Pokhara valley and while returning take a diversion for a wildlife experience at the Royal Chitwan National Park.  

The capital city of Kathmandu, has for ever been at the crossroads of trade and hence is a cauldron where culture, art and religion have mixed well for ages. Patan city is the fascinating maze of temples and markets and is renowned for its fine craftsmen who have pursued and perfected the ancient arts of wood carving and metal work. The natural beauty of Pokhara in mid-west Nepal is simply bewitching. This valley is governed in the north by the majestic Annapurna massif, a glittering wall of ice rising above the tranquil lakes of this beautiful and quiet valley. The Royal Chitwan National Park (932 sq. kms) in south-central Nepal is Asia’s best managed parks and is home to 50 species of mammals, 55 species of amphibians and reptiles and 525 species of birds. Wildlife that thrive here include one-horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger, Gaur, Gharial, Crocodile and the Gangetic dolphin.

Day 01:

Arrival in Kathmandu. Meet & greet with a flower garland and transfer to your hotel.  

Day 02:

AM: Visit Kathmandu and Swayambhunath. PM: Tour of Patan and Tibetan Refugee Camp. (B)  

Day 03:

Drive along a scenic mountain highway to Pokhara (200kms/6hrs). Check-in at your hotel in Pokhara. (B)  

Day 04:

AM: Hiking trip around Pokhara/Begnas with an escort. PM: Half day tour of Pokhara city. (B)  

Day 05:

After breakfast drive to the Royal Chitwan National Park. At the park boundary naturalist will receive and drive you to your jungle lodge. Game viewing in the afternoon. (B,L,D) 

Day 06:

Full day jungle activities such as elephant safari/jeep safari, dug-out canoe ride, bird watching etc; In the evening, Tharu stick dance or slide show on flora & fauna of the Chitwan park. (B,L,D)

Day 07:

Drive back to Kathmandu retracing the same highway and check-in at your hotel. Rest of the afternoon free for shopping or personal activities. (B)

Day 08:

Departure transfer for an international flight out of Kathmandu. (B)
